I understand this issue has affected users in your organization, and thanks for reporting the issue with detailed information.
Does the issue also occur to OWA?

I notice that you have contacted our phone support engineer. Have you received a service request (SR) number? If possible, could you please provide the SR number so that I can help you check the progress of the ticket and get more information about the issue.

1. Please go to Your details section on the right side of the community site.
2. Click Private messages.

Can you lot at Microsoft Support not simply take our ticket number and follow up on them without sending everyone private messages?  The whole purpose behind a "forum" is so everyone stays informed on the issue and knows what's going on.  Here's my ticket number: 113120511004423  Now, there are three admin people on this forum post  along with two other posts on this same board.  All of these posts are telling you ABOUT THIS SAME problem.  Instead of  acknowledging the issue, the MSFT Support lot keeps asking us THE SAME QUESTIONS and sending us private messages.  Please take my ticket number and and others that you've collected, call someone and find out what is going on and post that back to all of us.

Adolfo - this issue has been going on for three days now.  See this post...community.office365.com/.../209532.aspx I've got a ticket open with Microsoft that is supposed to be escalating to level 2, but I haven't heard anything yet.  Jason is already aware of this issue from the other post.

I have about 5 users so far reporting this problem today including myself.  I can send large attachments (15MB) through webmail, but I cannot through Outlook 2011 version 14.3.9.  I receive the same error in the 2011 client:

"HTTP error. The server cannot fulfill the request."

Error code: -18500

Also error:

"Could not synchronize record: test to Exchange server: "

Error code: -18500

Vivian, this started happening on Wednesday.  I have mutliple users effected.  This happens EVERY time the user attempts to send an email with an attachment over 5MB in size.  This only applies to Outlook 2011 on a Mac.  Windows Outlook clients are not effected.  I hate private messages in a forum because no one knows when the issue is resolved.  My ticket number is 113120511004423.  There is an issue, multiple people are reporting it.  Please take our tickets and report back to EVERYONE in the forums and not via private messages.

I agree with JLH_NC. This is just ridicules how support is handled at MS. If you submit a ticket then you get some guys in India calling asking questions as if they haven't even read the ticket.

I'm in the US and we are having the same issue as Denmark described.

MS its on your servers. Stop goofing around and escalate it to people that actually resolve it.

Hi JhYldgaard.  You should open a ticket with Microsoft.  Shortly, you are going to receive a boiler plate message from Vivan Wang, Jason Jiang, or Young Yang... asking you to describe the issue.

This is an area wide issue effecting multiple tenants in multiple continents.  Open a ticket on your admin portal and be persistent.  Otherwise, playing footsies with the technicians here will just waste your time.

613120590001928  This is my ticket number. I cannot obtain any other information at the moment. But seeing as how there are multiple people in different parts of the world that have the SAME EXACT problem.

That users are not able to send emails with attachments larger than 5Mb

they are all on MAC OS Systems

we have all confirmed we can send via OWA

We also confirmed it is not all users

and clearly it cannot be that we are all configuring our systems wrong when things were working fine last week

The tech handling my ticket asked me to turn on error logging and submit these excel files. At the moment my entire office is shut down in one of our locations due to bad weather so unfortunately i cannot submit these records needed. So because of that I fear this issue will not get resolved until next week.

The number of users calling is growing on my end.

For all mac users, I just found Cloud Commander Skydrive Edition in de Mac App store. 

Just login with your O365 account and it works.

I am in no way connected to this app, just found it and thought I'd share it here since Microsoft is taking their time (or ignoring mac users)

Currently, we received several posts about the problem:
When sending emails in Outlook for Mac 2011, if the attachment size is over 5MB, the email cannot be sent, and the following error occur:
Error 18500” or
HTTP error. The Server cannot fulfill the request

I am sorry for any inconvenience this case has caused. We have an awareness of this issue and reported it to the related team.
And once there is any update, we will update it in this forum.

@JLH_NC, your ticket has been escalated to high level support and our engineer has contacted you.
@Jan, the ticket you submit has the ownership and will be handled soon.
@Christina, I haven’t found the ticket number you provided, it seems the ticket has been escalated too. We will keep monitoring it.

All:  Just got off a call with technician.  While we were collecting data on my ticket, he noticed that there was an internal thread about this problem.  At some point a patch was applied earlier this week that is slowly migrating to all users.  All users who are on Version 15.0 Build (837.10) on the O365 Server will experience this issue. The technician says that there is an active bug reported and that it has been deemed a high priority bug.  He was hoping that it would go to "triage" this afternoon.  He advised that his fear is that the update will continue to roll out to other users in the mean time.  I can confirm that a user who was not effected by this issue yesterday, is now effected.  He is going to attach my ticket to the internal bug.  I asked that he update the forums since there are many users experiencing this issue and getting no answers.  Hopefully, with this bit of information, we can keep our users in the know.

I'd just like to wade in with a 'I have the exact same problem', we are Ireland. I have an almost identical setup at this site as denmark.

Enterprise Plan 2, 80+ Macs [Snow Leopard to Mavericks], Office 2011 14.3.8/9.

Getting the same -18500 error.

This started occurring Wednesday for us, 4th Dec.

Occurs when sending to external or internal sources, not sure why that would differ with Exchange online.

Does not occur when using OWA.

Thanks for letting us know, BartE. However, when I use Cloud Commander it doesn't show all the files in my SkyDrive Pro account. It only shows "Shared with Everyone", the folder that Microsoft puts in there by default. And it errors out when I try to create a new folder. When I drag and drop a new file it doesn't show that either. Bummer. Hopefully the developer works out the bugs.

Weird

It works fine on my SkyDrive Pro account. Shows all the files in my library and i can drag/drop.

The only thing i can't do is right click "Share Link". That is greyed out.

I have empaled the developer about it.

But everything else works fine
