Hi JHyldgaard,

Currently, we have seen several threads reporting the problem:
When sending emails in Outlook for Mac 2011, if the attachment size is over 5MB, the email cannot be sent, and the following error occur:
“Error 18500” or
“HTTP error. The Server cannot fulfill the request”

I am sorry for all the inconvenience it caused. We are already aware of this issue and have reported it to the related team.

And once there is any update, we will share in the forum.
Once again, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this case has caused.
Your patience and understanding will be highly appreciated.

Yeah, I'm using my real domain also. It doesn't work with the onmicrosoft.com domain because that's not how my account is setup.

How to send from connected account's address using desktop client

I've added a connected account to my Office 365 account. I'm able to send from this address using the Outlook web app. But I'm mainly using Outlook for Mac 2011 on my macbook. If I try to send from the connected account's address from there, the mail is not being accepted. How can I make this work?

Emails from Outlook not sending with attachments above approximately 5mb

I've just started running Office 365 and have been attempting to send an email from outlook on my desktop, which has 5 separate PDF documents totalling approximately 7mb.  I understand that I can send attachments up to 25 mb.

 

Each time I attempt to send the email there seems to be a process of Outlook syncing with the server which appears to hang the mail sending process.  Eventually I get an error message that 

Could not synchronize record:  to Exchange server: Jane Monk with an error message - 18500

The message I'm attempting to send ends up in the drafts folder

 

In an effort to fix this problem I deleted an reinstalled by exchange account but I'm still getting the same problem.

I have been able to send the email with the attachments from the Outlook web app but as the documents were on my laptop it took several minutes for the docs to upload prior to them actually being sent.

 

 As Office 365 has been rolled out through our company I tested sending an email from a collegues Mac and managed to send a 15mb documents - note it was a single attachment.

 

Could you please advise what the problem is and how to fix it

Hi Jane,

Sorry for the inconvenience the issue caused. Currently, we received several posts about the issue.
Symptoms:
===============================================
When trying to send email with attachments Outlook 2011 users are reporting the error "HTTP Error. The server cannot fulfill the request" Error code: -18500
If the attachments exceed 5-10mb in size then the email fails to send. If the attachments are under 4-5mb then it sends successfully.

We have been aware of the issue, and the investigation is going on by the back end team. Once there is any update, we will update it in this forum.

Could you please advise which thread I should follow on the forum for further updates.  Also can you please advise when this issue was first noted by Microsoft and an ETA for a solution.  If its only until mid-January I can live with that if it is likely to go on beyond that period our organisation may have to rethink the entire move to Office 365.

Clearly I would have prefer to have been made aware of this significant issue prior to signing up nearly 20 staff to this system and extolling its virtues.

Hi Joost,

I’ve done a lot of tests and based on my tests, we can only send emails with the connected account on Outlook Web App(OWA), Outlook 2007, Outlook2010, and Outlook 2013, and Outlook for Mac 2011 is not supported. 

Sorry for any inconvenience caused. Currently, I recommend you use OWA, Outlook 2010 or Outlook 2013 clients for this feature.

Meanwhile, we welcome you submit feedback here for the further improvement of our product. Actually, users who have concerns about our product have submitted their feedback with detailed information, and many features have been added based on their feedback. I believe your precious advice will also be taken into consideration carefully.

Thanks for your detailed reply.

Based on the current situation, since OWA works fine and this seems to be an client issue.
 
To do further troubleshooting, could you please ask your admin to set the problematic account on other users’ Outlook clients if possible to see if the same issue will occur. This is very important for use to find the root cause of the issue.

We have received several reports of the similar issue about "Error code: 18500". I'd like to confirm some additional information to clarify the issue:
1. Are there any attachments when trying sending emails via Outlook 2011 for Mac?
2. Are the attachments larger than 5 MB?
3. Can these issue affected users send emails with attachments larger than 5 MB via OWA (http://mail.office365.com/)?

Hi Barte, Even i installed cloud commander skydrive edition on my mac... but it works only for online not for offline.

Is there any alternate solution for Sky drive pro for MAC

We should not be having to hunt around for a fix. The Microsoft staff on this forum should be escalating the extreme dissatisfaction up the chain.

Thanks for the comments.  for the record, I was just sharing something I found that might help some people in this thread. I tested it briefly, I don't know all ins and outs of the app.

All of our users have now been been effected with this issue as well hosted on the Singapore servers for Australia
