RE: SkyDrive PRO for Mac

All, I'm a little late to this party and stumbled across this forum because I too was searching for an update as to when Microsoft would be releasing a SkyDrive (or OneDrive now) Pro app for Mac OS X.  However, in response to all your Mac issues I can tell you how we are getting around all of them.

We are a 30% Mac-based company and more and more of our employees are switching to it. However, most of our back-end is Windows (with the rest being some flavor of Linux depending on the service).  We run utilize all of the features of the Office 365 E3 plan from Exchange to Lync to SharePoint including SkyDrive Pro.

The way we get around all the Mac issues is simply by installing Parallels Desktop (Google it) and using it in "Coherence Mode".  This essentially boots a Windows 8 (or whatever you want) virtual machine and puts it in the background.  You can install the entire Office 2013 suite on that virtual machine including SharePoint Designer, Visio (assuming you're licensed), and SkyDrive Pro.  These apps appear in your Mac Dock just like any other native Mac app would.  The file systems are meshed so all of your SkyDrive Pro files are accessible via the Open command of any Office 2013 application.

We were tired of constantly waiting on Microsoft to keep up with the demand for Mac so now we don't have to.  In fact, I can't stand the 2011 version of Outlook for Mac so I just use the 2013 version via the Parallels Desktop.

Hope this helps!
