According to the post, to offer you the pertinent suggestion, I’d like to collect the following information:
1. Have you installed a standalone version of Office 2011, or Office 2008?
2. How do you install the Office 2011 downloaded from Office 365 portal?
As far as I know, delete the Office 365 application wouldn’t remove any Office files. After you reinstall the application, you can open the files with the new application.
However, since we can use the current Office for Mac with Office 365, we don’t need to delete the previous version of Office. If you insist on it, I’d like to share with you the articles about completely remove the Office application in Mac:
