All incoming and outgoing emails got moved to local computer

Hi,

A user changed a few settings from Outlook 2011 (mac) and he forgot what he changed exactly.

Long story short, all sent/received emails and emails inside sub-folders are all stored inside "on my computer" folder now. The only way to view emails is go to the "on my computer" folder (Inbox). Sent folder and all other sub-folders are empty now.

I tried to login to his OWA and those emails are gone from the server. Both new incoming and outgoing emails are stored inside his computer. I sent a test mail from his OWA and that mail wont appear in his sent folder as it got moved to his computer.

I used the search-mailbox function from powershell and found all of his lost mails and I uploaded them into my account. However, they came without the folder structure which used to be.

Some additional info, I checked his account settings and outlook settings and I cant spot anything that will caused this.

My questions are:

#1 Did he setup some kind of cache mode and delete mails from source location automatically?

#2 Is there any way to revert his mailbox back to Tuesday?

If 365 dont have any backup then I will have to try my last option. Upload his old archive (Oct 2014 from entourage) to another account and reinstall Outlook 2011 from his mac computer. However, I dont know is there any configuration that will left over and messed up everything again.

Any suggestions/solutions are welcome

Thank you for your time
