Just because you write the code for one part of a product, does not mean you have access to other parts. For example, and i do not know if this is the case or not, but lets take a look at this and break it down since its hard to understand.
You have a "OneDrive" department
You have a "Office for Mac Dev Department"
You have a "Office for Windows Dev Department"
YOu have a SharePoint dev department that is broken down into , God Knows, how many groups.... Lets see
SharePoint (MySites)
SharePoint (Team SItes
SharePoint (API's)
SharePoint (apps/Web Parts)
and the list can go on and one..
To make a long story short, When you were in Dev, you work on your part of the project only. You then have other teams that work on other stuff. Im sure that somewhere down the Dev road, there were some changes made to the roadmap, and the teams had to adjust. Then the timeline gets pushed out a bit.
So, not to keep going on this topic, because I have better things to do but.
1. not everyone is waiting on this sync tool as you have said.. Others that "really" need it, have found Better alternatives.
Then you have people that dont even use the Sync client even if they had it..hell, I have had a Sync tool installed now for a few months, and i barley use it.
Plus, do you honestly thing that Microsoft is just not doing anything or taking there time on purpose? I am sure that even Microsoft would love to get this sync product out so people would just stop bitching about it.
But as i said earlier, I can bet that half the people on this thread will still complain about it once its out....
And just because they are the "Most largest software company of the world"... That does not make things easier.. That actually makes things harder...
Its not like having a 2 person dev team just focusing on this one product...You have Business Politics they have to deal with, you have the separate teams you have to get approval from or other people to help and then you got your Directors/Product people that make changes to the roadmap or decide they are going in a different direction and now the people that are actually writing the code go "Crap, now i have to go back and make changes"...
So,, it will be out when its out...If your business depends so much on a sync tool, you might need to rethink your business model.
