Regarding both the purchasing email (non-ms email) and outlook email cannot activate the Outlook for Mac in the post I provided above, I’d like to confirm whether you have linked the Office 365 account to other emals, for example, your outlook.com email?
If this is the case, I think this is the reason why the error message “",,,We couldn't find an Office 365 connected to your account. If you need full functionality in Outlook, contact your organization about your 365 Office 365 plan” occur because Office 365 account and Microsoft account use different authentication system to identify the accounts, which would make confusion for authentication when you link them together. Given this situation, please try to activate the Outlook for Mac using another Office 365 account to identify whether the issue is related to the account you use. If it can be activated using other Office 365 account, please remove the link with other outlook.com account to see whether there is any improvement.
