Onedrive for Business Mac client chokes on unusual file name characters

I just installed the OneDrive for Business client on Mac OS X. I moved several folders from my personal OneDrive folder on the Mac to my ODfB folder and waited for the magic to begin. Unfortunately, the ODfB client refuses to upload files with a "#" in them. The personal OneDrive client handled those files without any issue. Similarly, the ODfB client chokes on files with an underscore character "_" as well.

Any thoughts on this?
