Web-based viewer and editor in Excel Web App support most features of an Excel workbook, but not all. According to the following article, slicers that were created in an Excel 2010 workbook can be displayed. However, if a workbook in the browser contains one or more slicers that are part of a group, you cannot open the workbook.
