I should have mentioned that Presence works for others, just not for the people (2 so far) that have lost all of their contacts on their clients (Federation is enabled).

Mac Users are using OSx 10.6.8 and 10.8.2.  Both with the latest updates to their clients (14.0.4)

I'll try those other steps and report back.
