David, I totally agree with your point & being an administrator i know very well that there are number of departments works together to make things easier. it's not really that business depends on this sync tool. This is the situation Microsoft has created by it's own marketing which had conveyed the message that (Put all your files in "OneDrive"" or "OneDrive for all your files"....)

Users are always there to complain & these complaints actually helps to understand the more & more growing requirement & making it possible. But for making a complain people should have something to work on & finding the issues.

I 100% agree with you

Microsoft's Marketing has made this into what it is....and now the Dev's are trying to find ways to make that come true, and im sure they are hitting roadblocks.

SharePoint was never meant to be a "File Sever". and im sure you know this, but others need to know it.. All the non-technical people that post here waiting on the client because they are using SharePoint as a file server will continue to be the ones having issues. I think they will keep having issues until Microsoft takes the "ODFB" off of SharePoint and uses a backend Like what is being used on "OneDrive" personal

Another thing I will share for you if anyone on this thread does not know about..here is where you will find better info and can speak directly to the Dev's..

But, you know they will not give you much m ore info, but at least they listen

onedrive.uservoice.com/.../86090-onedrive-for-business

You will also see that they posted "We're planning on releasing a preview by the end of the month"

Hi David,

I'm curious what the 'other alternatives' are. Maybe I just haven't found them.

With respect to 'replacing a file system' I can tell you that this is exactly what Microsoft wants businesses and users to do. I know this because I worked there for three years and there are no other file servers or document management systems being used... just SharePoint (plus OneDrive for Business). Now that I'm in a different company, I'm just not aware of the other alternatives to using SharePoint as your primary document repository, but giving users a better experience than paging around the SharePoint UI.

Make sense?

1: Yes, because I imported the calendar entries into his exchange mailbox with my Windows Outlook client originally (this was months ago) and at the time of import confirmed that the calendar matched on OWA, additionally, it seems the entries all downloaded to his Mac Outlook clients in that they are visible and accurate, but every time you clear the cache on the calendar these errors fire again as the clients re-download the events from the server.  I am assuming the fact that we are getting this error means that things will not be working as smoothly as they should moving forward with changes to the entries and as such may be related to the duplicates and missing items between the two Mac Outlook clients.

2: He has a Mac desktop and a Mac laptop, both were loaded with the new Mac Outlook 365 version right when it was announced the other month.  At the same time we migrated from another Exchange host to Office 365, so i did the PST export / import on my Windows Outlook client from the old Exchange host to Office 365 Exchange, and then downloaded the mailboxes into fresh profiles on both the Mac computers.  They both are connected to the Office 365 Exchange and a couple of secondary POP accounts.

3: The error does appear in both Outlooks.  They have been running the same version as each other, but have been updated to the two releases you have made since the initial release.  Current version is 15.6 (150113).

4: He is the only user on the account

5: His overall mailbox size is at least 5 GB and there isn't a PST currently, as they are exchange accounts, not POP/IMAP (unless you want the OST).  If you want the OST, do you want it from one of the Mac computers or should i connect my windows computer and download the mailbox?  Or, do you want me to export the calendar folder only from one of the mac computers or my windows computer?

Also, for clarity, this is the exact error text on both systems:

An error occurred while updating the calendar event "EVENT NAME"

Please delete this event and create a new event.

Error code: -19126

Young,   I have the same problem and it has made my calendar app (iCal) unusable.   Any new event that someone sends me is not posted to my calendar.  I have to use the WebApp or my iPhone to respond to new events.

Hi Brice,

At present, the OneDrive for Business sync client is only available for the PC. And in the near future, the OneDrive for Business sync app will be released for Mac OS. And you may bookmark the following website, because most of the updates for Office 365 for business are listed inside:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/products/office-365-roadmap-FX104343353.aspx

Meanwhile, on Mac, we may also use the SharePoint Workspace application to sync contents temporarily.

In your situation, regarding “We have OneDrive downloaded on the Mac”, it seems it is the OneDrive sync client instead of the OneDrive for Business.
Actually, the OneDrive for Business storage service is different from OneDrive storage service.
For more information, please see: How is OneDrive for Business different from OneDrive?.

Charles

So I have purchased Microsoft 365 Business Premium for Business. My entire company would like to use the OneDrive service that we are currently paying monthly for. Some of us use PC and other use Mac. We have OneDrive downloaded on the Mac and it will not accept the Business Log-Ins.

How can we use OneDrive for Business on Mac?

Hi mikejng,

According to your description, the issue is more likely to be related to some local client factors. Since our forum focuses on Office 365 Online services, we have limited information to assist with such Outlook client.
In this situation, I suggest you post in Office for Mac Community for effective assistance. Please provide them with detailed information such as whether other Office software like Word, Excel and PowerPoint works, etc.The support engineer there will help you to troubleshoot the issue.

We’d appreciate your understanding.

Best regards,
Jamie

New Outlook for Mac has encountered an error and needs to close

One of my clients has been using Office 365 with the new Outlook for Mac.  Suddenly today she reported that Outlook won't open - it immediately gets an "Outlook has encountered a problem and needs to close" error.

If this were PC Office installed from a CD, I would try a repair.  But on Mac Outlook downloaded and installed directly from Office 365, I'm not sure how to do that.

Can you point me to a standard set of troubleshooting steps to resolve this issue?  I realize I may have to open a support case but if there's a simple repair procedure available I'd like to try that first.

Thanks!

Hi All,

We are still working on the issue. The issue is now posted to Service Health Dashboard (SHD). If you are a tenant administrator, you can see the current information and updates on your Service Health Dashboard (SHD) in Office 365 admin center. If you are experiencing an issue and do not see a current post, please let us know as this may reflect different impact. Your patience and efforts are highly appreciated.

Regards,

Young

Hi Fred,

The mechanism of Outlook for Mac to “read” calendar entries is different from Outlook 2013/2010. And the issue might occur if Outlook for Mac can’t recognize the original format of the calendars. To further troubleshoot the problem, I’d like to collect more information.

1. What’s the email system does the customer use before migrating to Office 365?

2. How did you get the PST file that you imported with Outlook on the Windows computer? (If the issue is related to the PST file, I’m afraid that the only Microsoft supported scenario is that the PST file was exported from Outlook)

3. If the original PST file was exported from Outlook, as you mentioned, please export the calendars to another PST file and send it via the email attachment to the outlook.com account I posted in the private message. I’ll import the PST file to Outlook for Mac on my side to see if the issue persists.

4. If possible, please connect another Office 365 account to Outlook for Mac on the affected customer’s Mac. And then import a PST file to the account on a Windows computer to see if there is the same error on his Mac.

Thanks for your time.

Regards,

David

I came across this thread: http://community.office365.com/en-us/f/153/p/238265/751816.aspx#751816

I am encountering the same problem using Microsoft Outlook for Mac Version 15.6 (150113) and an Exchange mailbox hosted on Office 365.

The calendar was imported to the Exchange mailbox from a Windows PC using Outlook and upon downloading the calendar items to the Outlook for Mac mailbox, every imported item is triggering the same error, subsequently he is having sync issues between the calendars on his two Mac computers which i suspect this is likely related to.  Any word on how to fix this automatically?
