Re: "Search" facility does not work on Mac Outlook 2011

Hi David,

I ran through all steps below, and when I searched for emails (from a common sender) the results of the search, gave 2 results from 24/1/14 and 27/1/14 (even though there were a large amount previous to these dates).  But before I ran the steps the search was not yielding any results at all.

I believe the next step may be to re-load Outlook 2011.  I assume I don’t need to re-load the entire Office suite again?

To answer your questions:

1. How did you migrate to Office 365?

This migration was done along with 11 other mixed environment users (PC/Mac).  In this case the email was IMAP, so all MX records were amended at the host etc. (not clear how they updated the records at their end), and Office 2011 was already loaded onto the Mac, so, just signed in to new Office365 mailbox, and copied and dragged over old emails.

2.       Does the issue occur in OWA (Outlook Web App http://mail.office365.com/)?

       No, I accessed the email account on OWA – and search worked perfectly.

2. How many users encounter the issue?

3 Mac users have experienced varying search issues – 1 Mac user cannot search on OWA, other Mac user has reported that the search is unreliable, and doesn’t always yield expected results!  Third is the worst case, where search yields NO results whatsoever.

3. If you connect the affected account to Outlook on other computers, does the issue persist?

Should I try this on a PC or Mac – or should it matter.
