You will notice when searching for SkyDrive in the Mac App Store, that it is indeed available. Please notice, that this is the consumer version of SkyDrive, and works as intended.
I agree with you, that support for Mac clients are limited, but I see that MS is acknowledging that more and more end users are using Mac machines, and that is why we are hoping (!) for a OneDrive for Business for Mac. ASAP!
