Why doesn't the Office365 Outlook web app look more like the desktop client?

I am using office365 for my outlook exchange hosting only.  In addition to my Outlook 2010 desktop client, I sometimes use the outlook web app.  I don't like the layout of the web app at all.  I should be able to arrange the email inbox with the categories at the top of the page, left to right, as follows:  from, subject, date.  In short, I should be able to arrange it in the same logical, easy to quickly read, sequence as my Outlook desktop client.  I also agree that the layout on the Outlook.com web page is even better than office365.  At least the categories are at the top.  Why would office365 be so counter-intuitive?  Almost every email and other Windows program has categories at the top of the window that will allow you to quickly sort the messages below according to whichever category you choose:  by date, or by name, or by subject, for instance.  Is office365 going to get around to allowing a change in email views so that we can have a better template.  Even the lite version of the outlook web app has a much better appearance - it just lacks some of the more sophisticated features, like font sizes and bold, etc...  but it's much closer in appearance to the desktop email application.
