Since I said, "Is this really a limitation that can't simply be lifted," clearly the reason why it can't be lifted is not something I know. As a small business, we are really a lot more like consumers than a large enterprise with a full IT staff, and the marketing materials that lead us to this decision were clearly focused on businesses like mine.
My real question, while I'll admit I was also voicing my frustration, was why can't we get any kind of update on the Mac sync product that was promised by the end of the year. I know that this is a question that a lot of people have asked, and maybe I shouldn't have also asked it msyelf, given the reaction it elicited. I also know a response from Microsoft won't be forthcoming.
If we could simply sync with our macs, I would find a way to work around the fact that this isn't cloud storage and that storage size amounts aren't as important as file limitations. Maybe this is overly simplistic, but Microsoft might want to remove the cloud from the app logo image.
