Sorry for my typo. I mean Outlook.com shouldn’t be associated to Office 365 Business plans.
Our forum focuses on Exchange Online connectivity issues. Exchange Online is available in Business Essential, Business Premium and Enterprise E1/E3 etc.
Based on my research, Outlook.com supports Exchange ActiveSync, IMAP and POP3. Please see Set up an email app with Outlook.com. If Outlook for Mac doesn’t support either of these connections, the Outlook.com won’t be connected. As far as I know, Outlook for Mac supports Exchange connection (MAPI). And Exchange Online supports Exchange connection and Exchange ActiveSync connections. Therefore, I suggest you post the question in Outlook for Mac forum and the Outlook.com forum. Your understanding is appreciated.
