Why are users being messaged that user name or password is incorrect? Emails not sending.

Over the last few days almost all of our users are being told by Outlook that their user name or password is incorrect and asking if they want to re-enter. When the correct user and password is entered, the message goes away, and very shortly after, the message pops up again. Many users have experienced no sync or connectivity with the exchange and therefore we are getting very frustrated.

An attempted fix was to login to the 365 OWA portal and reset the user password there. This works for only a short time (perhaps 24hrs) before the process starts again.

We are running Office 2011 on Mac machines no older than 2010, and Office 365.

Can someone help? The service request we sent in seems to have gone to vapor....no response.
