Hi JonHumiston,

To narrow down the root cause of the issue, could you provide the following information for us?
1. Have you tried adding the Office 365 account in another Mac client to check if the issue persists?
2. Are there any other users in the same organization encountering the same issue?
3. Could you capture a screenshot of the status in the bottom right corner on Outlook client, so that we can know it clearly?
4. I have provided a test account for you via private message, please add the test account in your Outlook for Mac client to check if the issue persists.

Here are the steps to access the Private Message:
1. Go to Your details on the upper right corner of the forum.
2. Click Private messages.
3. Click the subject title of the response to read the message.

I have been trying to log into the account because I cannot access the word documents that I created and that I need for school assignments. When I try to log in, it it replies: 

Sorry, there was a problem while trying to connect to your account. (Error code:0x80072f17)

I have been trying everything to sign into my subscription because I really need my assignments!  What can I do?

Hi 

I've been trying to load an excel file from our group sharepoint site and once clicking the file it just won't load- I get a blank page that says operation timed-out

Any help on this would be most appreciated

I have tried on 3 different networks on my mac and this occurs every time. I can log into 365 account online and on my iPad.

I need a solution.

Hi Nicholas,

I would like to explain that, some profile settings are not feasible to be changed at Basic Information, such as Name, because they are stored at the central database and essential for many other functions.

As the global admin to modify the properties, please go to SharePoint admin center > user profiles > Find profiles to find your account > click on your account > Edit My Profile.

And you may further turn to Office 365 admin center > USERS > Active Users > select yourself > EDIT > Details to manage your profile.

For more information, please refer to View and edit your profile and Add and edit user profile properties.

Cannot edit Name or Work Phone in "Basic Information" section of About Me

I would like to adjust the name and work phone in my profile, but cannot find a way to do that. 

  1. I've tried clicking the Account Menu--> About Me--> edit, but there is no option to edit the Basic Information section where the name and work phone are displayed. 
  2. I've tried clicking the Account Menu--> My Settings, but again there is no functional option to edit anything. There is an Edit Item button at the very top of this screen, but there are no entry fields that can be edited from this pane. 

I am using Safari 8.0.2 on a Mac running OS X to access my account via the web.

I tried 

2. Remove the following folders and empty Trash:

UBF8T346G9.OfficeOsfWebHost
UBF8T346G9.ms
UBF8T346G9.Office


with no luck. I'm still getting this:

I tried to look for my current Office Licence but when I click on Office Settings I'm brought to this page:

There's no Assigned licenses section.

My previous version was Office for Mac 2011 and the version I have just installed is the same.

I have an office 365 ProPlus account through work and I have installed it on my work Surface tablet, my Galaxy S4 and my iPad however I can't seem to get it to work on my Macbook Pro.

I had an office 365 subscription with office for mac installed on my macbook. I have since deleted it - following the steps in this video. However when I try to activate the subscription I keep getting the error:

"Sign in failed because the password is incorrect or the sign-in name does not exist."

I have no issue logging into portal.office.com with the same login details. I had thought this was something to do with having previously had office 365 installed on my mac. I have even deleted One Drive but neither worked.

SO, you have an issue where your Mac will not let you "Click" a button?

Have you tried from another computer?

Have you tried from another browser?

Please do the two above and narrow down your issue to your computer or to your browser.

Hi,

The problem that I am getting is, I can't activate mac office 2011 with school email.

After I choose"Sign in to an existing Office 365 subscription" >> type in my school email >> I stuck at the screen on "Please select the type of account which you would like to use to sign in."
However, I can't click anything. And the "Microsoft Answer Desk" tech person connected to my mac, he tried a few things, and then said it maybe my school email problem, told me to call school.

I called my school, and my email is totally fine with the sign in to Office365 subscription!  (That's why I can login and use the Microsoft Office on my Windows computer.)

So, what happened? and what should I do now? Since, I contact to Microsoft for 4times already, and I still can't get solve my problem.

On my iMac in Safari, I have some documents in OneDrive/SharePoint that I would like to move in to a folder I created in OneDrive/SharePoint, under the same Office365 account. How do I move them? There doesn't seem to be a way.

Thanks for your updates.

I would like to confirm if you can activate and use the Office normally before you uninstalled it? If so, the issue may be caused by undeleted cache. In this scenario, could you refer to this article to completely remove the Office 2011 for Mac then reinstall it to see if the issue will occur: http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2398768 ? This article requests deleting more files to remove the Office 2011 for Mac.
