cannot reactivate office 365 for mac

Hello 

3 times in the last six months my university 365 office, keeps asking me to to sign in. Both time eventually (after several days it lets me back in) this time it isn't working. I enter my email and password and either it says 'sorry, there was a problem while trying to connect to your account. Error code: 0x800048823' or 'sign in failed because the password is incorrect or the sign-in name does not exist'

Please can someone help me?

All, I've found several topics CLOSE to my issue, but none that fit it perfectly. I am an Outlook for Mac user with a MacBook Pro and using Office 365 for our Exchange hosting. Last Friday, I was running Outlook for Mac 2011 and I had an issue where my Inbox wouldn't sync. I only got the message "Sync pending for this folder" in the bottom right of the screen next to the Connected status. At that point, the only thing I could do was quit/restart Outlook to get it to sync. After some research, on Monday morning upgraded Outlook for Mac 2011 to the latest version (14.4.7 I believe) and updated my Mac OS to make sure that I had the latest updates to both packages. Still had the same issue. Today, I found Outlook for Mac (the Office 365 edition) and I running that (v.15.4) but I STILL have the "Sync pending this folder" message and it's not updating. 

To date, the only solution that works is to Go to the Outlook menu and click "Work Offline" then, a few seconds later, click it again to go back online. 

The only solution that I've seen but haven't tried is to "Disable EWS Digest Authentication" but I don't know how to do that via Office 365 hosting.

THIS ACTUALLY WORKED.  I went to the link, searched for "Sync Pending for this Folder" and found an answer.  I don't know what it was doing to all of your computers, but it was causing my battery to drain extremely fast.   After I did what it told me to do, I also cleaned out about 600 old emails.  As soon as this was done, it changed to "All Folders are up to date" and my battery doesnt drain fast any more.

Hi Robert,

I have read the whole posts above, and I understand that you have checked Mills' suggestions and found there is no Office 2016 for Mac preview installed. However, I would like to confirm if you follow the option 2 to clear the cache? This troubleshooting step is very important to the further investigation. Here is the step:

Clean up the cache every time you start the OneDrive for Business Mac Preview process

1. Close OneDrive for Business Mac Preview

2. Delete ~/Library/Group
Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/Microsoft/AppData/Microsoft/Office/15.0/OfficeFileCache

NOTE: ~ is shorthand for the user’s home directory in the file system.

3. Restart OneDrive for Business Mac Preview

I have checked it from my side, there are still two subscriptions under your tenant. The 1 license subscription hasn’t been canceled. Also, another subscription hasn’t been canceled. If you want to cancel the 1 license subscription, please feel free to let us know, we can help you with it.

In this situation, let’s focus on the canceling license issue firstly. After resolving it, let’s focus on the assigning license issue. Thanks for your understanding.

I too was experiencing this issue. I was able to solve it by modifying the CSS of the scroll container in the page.

Here is the CSS I added:

.scrollContainer { z-index: 1; }

Have you contacted the Office 365 admin? If your organization is using ADFS for SSO, please post back for further investigation.

Unable to Activate Microsoft Outlook for Mac (15.1.8)

I am struggling to activate Microsoft Outlook for Mac.

1. Initially, I began with the problem discussed on http://community.office365.com/en-us/f/153/t/277811.aspx where I was getting this error on activation "805240834". I got it fixed by the steps pointed out regarding clearing out UBF8T346G9.Office

2. However, this used to happen every couple of weeks and I had to reactivate it each time. Have done this like 10 times and it's pretty bad being moved to offline mode every few weeks

3. Now, I am not even able to activate and not able to use desktop client at all. When I click the button to Activate, it shows a popup where I enter email id and then choose my work account. Thereafter I go through SSO workflow and provide my LDAP credentials and token, but then rather than showing the activating message and Outlook getting activated (As it did till few days back), I am logged into my Outlook mail in the popup window that was opened. Control is not returned back to Outlook and activation does not happen

Any quick help would be really appreciated

Thanks NeoZhu. The problem has been successfully resolved and I was able to activate Office (it has started redirecting back to Activate rather than logging me into Office 365). However, I had want to know what is the timeframe for fixing the Activation Problem where I have to regularly clean up UBF8T346G9.Office every couple of weeks. I hope you understand it's pretty painful repeating the process again and again

Hi.

I suddenly cannot use Outlook to send emails, it is in read-only mode. Whenever i try to activate the account -which had always been activated- I come across the error 2147467259.

OneDrive Business (MAC OS X) Crashes

Since installing  OneDrive for business on my Mac it's running 90% of CPU power constantly. 

I have tried restarting my MacBook Pro.  Once restarted, I get a pop up message "problem occurred with accessing the Office Document Cache. Do you want to Repair this problem?” If answered Yes, this open the Microsoft Upload Center. Have emptied the Office Document Cache using the Upload Center preferences numerous time and this does not resolve the problem.  

I have to manually Quit OneDrive for Business from the Menu Bar.  

I use:

Mac OS X 10.10.2 (Yosemite), current on all software updates.

[Chrome on Mac Only]-Cannot scroll through conversation list in OWA for Office 365

I am currently using Chrome Version 41.0.2272.89 (64-bit) for Mac OSX 10.10.  To check my work email I use OWA through Office 365.  Over the past few days I have lost the ability to scroll through the conversation list by using the mouse wheel or track pad.  Scrolling in the folder list pane and message pane work fine.  I have uninstalled Chrome, cleared all Google/Chrome data from the computer, and reinstalled.  However, the issue remains.  This issue does not appear to affect Safari on OSX 10.10, only Chrome.

If i send a meeting invite to my personal gmail account, clients who work at companies that use google apps for email/calendar, etc. and they accept, decline, tentative - i do NOT get a notification of their action. Also, it does not show they responded when i look at the event on my calendar.

I've tried sending an invite from both outlook as well as web based office 365

Outlok 2015 Cannot Connect Outside the Company

Hello,

I am recently an Outlook 2015 for Mac user, when I went home with my laptop configured with Outlook 2015 for the first  last eve i could not log unto the server, server could not be found. Yet when I launched Outlook 2011,it worked without issue, even tough they have the same server 'https://usalvwexcaht.infor.com/EWS/Exchange.asmx' listed in the Account settings. As i have discovered, unless i use VPN or am within the company's subnets, outlook 2015 does not ever connect.My first question is there a known issues with Outlook 2015 over http  with no VPN? Outlook 2011 worked just fine without launching our VPN application. My second question is, how can turn on logging in Outlook 2015? Is there someone to whom we could send the logs to once captured? We truly need to trouble shoot this as this issue has halted our migration to Outlook 2015 fully until the issue is resolved.  My unique identifier is: 1003000089DB65AF

"It seems we may have a couple of potential issues with the new version of Outlook for the MAC (2015).  One related to how the client works when connected via VPN (eg. Not consistantly working via HTTP).  This is the issue I am having, and it seems related to how the account is getting its settings (and/or having them changed) via the Exchange server.  The other issue is related to authenticating/setup with O365 accounts."
