Is there a cache in Sharepoint online that I can clear?

$

Hello,

I have a list and one of the columns is a lookup column to another list.  When I'm in datasheet view and I add a new item, the dropdown for that lookup column is displaying items from a previous lookup.  It's a long story, but in my parent list I have a column that is created using a workflow and the workflow put some funny characters in front of it.  Then I created another calculated column to trim that column.  My child list used to point to the funky characters column and so my options would have those funny charactres in it. I have since changed the lookup to the column that trims those characters and yet it is still showing the list items from the funky column.  Once I select an option in my drop down it saves it fine without the charactrs.  And when I use standard view and create a new item, my drop down list is showing items CORRECTLY.

So it seems that while in datasheet view there is some cache somewhere.  This is only happening on ONE of my computers (my main one).  For other usrs and other computers, the drop down is just fine.  What cache would I have to delete to get this working?  I have deletd my temp internet files, my office cache on my local computer, etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Show Assigned to column for a feedback workflow on the document listing screen

We're using a feedback workflow to track the progress of a document through multiple stages. On the screen that lists the doucment, there is a new column added for the workflow's name. The data within that column is a link to the workflow's status. What I'm interested in seeing as an additional column is the person who the workflow is currently assigned to. Otherwise, you have click on each 'In Progress' link per document. Not very efficient.

Yea good call. Id really like to take advantage of the Room Mailbox but we need to make it accessible to everyone even if they don't have Outlook. I will post on MSDN but do you know if SP can read a Room Mailbox? Meaning, can I create a setup using both so SP will read Outlook Room Mailbox so you can reserve it using either Outlook or SP.

In the site options, I tried to add the script code to a parameter that eventually would add the peace of code to the header of the master page, I couldn't find any element that would do that. I added the peace of code as a new parameter, however I don't know how to add the parameter to the page.

Any thoughts?

I'm not exactly sure what you mean. Site Options in SPD is where you can see/edit the elements the site designer automatically writes like the nav, footer etc. You can add javascript or other html to an element like "wh_title" but it will be in the body of the page.

There's a way to use the seo box to add scripts to the head but it has to be url encoded. If you want to add a script to the head, take a look at this - select "Verify your Office 365 site w/ search engines!" from the drop down on this page. Towards the bottom of the article you'll find "Adding javascripts to the -head- section."

Hi Korb,

If you are using the Internet Explorer right now, you can try to reset IE.
We also suggest reproducing the issue in another browser to see if it will also occur.

If that still doesn’t work, we recommend you create a new column, and then look up this new one to see if it works.

Thanks,
Ella Huang

Hi Ella -

I tried resetting IE and that didn't work.  I can't recreate the problem in another browser because other browsers don't support datasheet view (and that is where I'm seeing the issue).

I tried creating a new column and looking up to the new one and it still is showing the same values in the drop down.

Editing search results in Sharepoint Online

I have a custom column added to various document types within my Sharepoint site. This column is a plain text choice designating the current status of a document. I would like this status to appear in search results next to the document name. I have followed instructions to create an enterprise search center (so am editing results.aspx/the associated columns and xsl on this search center). Am I right in believing that you cannot display information from extra columns in search results (by adding them to the xsl or by any other method)?

I have also tried adding a new column as managed metadata. So far I can add this new column to the column list (of results.aspx) without the dreaded "Property doesn’t exist or is used in a manner inconsistent with schema settings." error appearing, but I cannot get them to show in results.

It cannot be this hard to get extra information to show on search results.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi Jason,

That last recommendation appears to have solved the problem. I now have my site open in SharePoint Designer 2010. Thank you!

Hi Rich,

Based on my research, currently it is unavailable to open a room mailbox by SharePoint.

Thanks,

Hi Andrew,

I understand you would like to display a customer column in the search result page in SharePoint Online. Please correct me if I misunderstood it.

After doing much research, I found it’s not possible to do this in SharePoint Online.

Based on my research, showing customer column in the result page needs to add the customer column as managed property in SharePoint Admin Center. However, SharePoint Online doesn’t support editing the managed properties for the time being.

In your situation, I’d like you can provide the guidance you followed here, so that I can check if the guidance is sensible, as well as try to reproduce the problem you encountered on my side.

If my above information doesn’t help you, please let me know.

Thanks,
Evan Zhang

Hi Korb,

Would you please check the permission of the new columns? The issue may occur if you don’t have the permission to access those columns.

Thanks,
Ella Huang

It's not a permission issue because it works on some of my computers with the same login.  Just not on my main computer.  It's a local setting or cache somewhere on my computer or on Sharepoint

If you check your sharepoint version in SPD, you were probably upgraded last night.  The old SP version ended in .4433, the new version with patch is now .4454

Outlook 2011 error and quits

Hi I am getting this error:

Outlook was redirected to the server autodiscover-s.outlook.com to get new settings for your account . Do you want to allow this server to configure your settings?

Click Allow only if you fully trust the source, or if your Exchange Administrator instructs you to do so.

After that Outlook quits, when I delete exchange account then it works. On PC I have no problems just on a mac.

Any ideas on this?

Thanks

Hi Mehnihma,

Do you mean that when configuring the Exchange account in Outlook 2011 for Mac, you receive the following message?

If this is the case, it’s a normal situation when Setting up Outlook 2011 for Mac with Office 365. Please check the option “Always use my response for this server”, then click “Allow” to continue the process.

For more details, please refer to: Set Up Outlook for Mac 2011 for Your E-Mail Account.

Hi Mehnihma,

I would like to confirm the following information:

1. Does this issue occur to other accounts in your tenant?

2. Which subscription are you using?

In addition, I suggest you create a new profile (identity) and then set up the account again.

Here is a link for your reference:
