Hi Doug,

To further troubleshoot the issue, I’d like to confirm the following tips with you:

  1. Are the Windows user encounter the same issue?
  2. Have you tried to update the Lync’s version to the newest in Mac and try again?
  3. Have you performed a clean startup (safe mode) to determine if there is any background program are interfering with Office for Mac?
  4. Is there any service upgrade carrying on or performed for your subscription?
  5. Also, for test purpose, could you please try uninstall Lync and Office clients on one Mac, then reinstall them to see if the same issue persists?

Adding distribution group in Lync for Mac 14.0.4 client

When configuring a distribution group in the Exchange-admin for my entire organization in Office365, the group works perfectly in any Windows client. On the Mac however, I'm unable to add the group (the add button does not appear like it appears on regular contacts). I never got this working using older clients on the Mac, but on windows clients it's no problem.

Example:

Regular contact:

Example 2:

Distribution group

Hi TorbjoernM,

Currently, Lync Online for Mac can't add distribution group and communicate with distribution group. If you concern this issue, I suggest you submit comments at http://g.microsoftonline.com/0BX11EN/135 to improve our service.

Thanks,

office 365 university - is Publisher and OneNote missing in the Mac version?

Hi, I have Office 365 university and I installed the first copy on my Windows 8 desktop.  When I installed the next copy on my MacBook is installed the Office 2011 version, and is missing some of the applications like Publisher, OneNote and Access.  Is this normal or did I install the wrong version when I downloaded it.  Also if this is correct is there a way to get Publisher and OneNote on the Mac?

Thanks

Hi erotavlas,

Currently, Publisher and Access and OneNote are not compatible with Mac OS. When you install Microsoft Office 365 University on a Mac computer, only Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint will be installed.

Thanks,
Allen Zhang

Not sure why my 1st reply never posted.  I'm not one of the people have the problem, so I have wait for a cooperative person to perform your tip #2.  Answer to your #1: no Windows users are having this problem.

I'm hoping to do some lower level troubleshooting in order to see what is actually causing the problem.  #4: no, there are no service upgrades happening to our account right now.

Hope to have someone reinstall Lync and see if that resolves the issue this week.

Regards

Doug

Doug,

I have had a customer with this problem in the past.  Reinstalling Lync should help you.

Re: Error creating a rule in shared mailbox OWA

Hi Mehnihma,

I test it in my Office 365 account. I am able to create an Inbox rule for Shared Mailbox in Office 365 OWA.

Given this situation, I suggest you follow the steps below to troubleshoot this issue:
1. Reset IE to the default settings.
2. Clear all cached files.
3. Open OWA in InPrivate Mode.

Meanwhile, you are able to create an Inbox rule for a shared mailbox in Outlook 2010 after adding a shared mailbox in Outlook.
Here are the steps to add a shared mailbox in Outlook:
File>Account settings>Account settings>Change>More Settings>Advanced>Add

For more detailed information "Manage email messages by using rules", please refer to the link below:

So far replaced Lync Client.  That did not resolve the issue.  Noticed an update to Lync, so we're going to grab that and install.  But I'm not hopeful on the reinstall of Lync solving the problem.

Neo, for your #5 suggestion, are you saying to remove all of Office 2011 (all apps) and reinstall?  Or, just Outlook?  Also, what program installs that button?  If someone had Outlook but did not install Lync, would that button still appear (I'm guessing not)?

btw, 14 people use MAC's and they all stopped working about the same time (this button worked fine for 2-3 months).  One thing I have noticed is that all MAC Lync users had to use static URI's to get Lync to connect.  Do you think their URI is stale and causing button problems?  Lync still works, it's just this button within Outlook (Online Meetings) that does not work.
